Purchasing your first home is a very big step.  It can be a very scary, while exciting experience.  Here are a few tips on how to make your first home buying experience less stressful:

 

1. Find a realtor you feel comfortable with.  If you trust that your agent has your best interest in mind, you will feel better throughout the entire process.

2. Get pre-approved for your mortgage before you begin looking.  This will give you an accurate price range to look for. When you find the right home for you, a pre-approval can give you the extra negotiating ability you may need to close the deal.

3. There is no requirement for the number of houses you have to see before you find the one you want.  You may buy the first home you look at, or the 20^th. 

4. Pay attention while you are looking at homes.  You will begin to see features that you consistently like or dislike about a home.  Tell your realtor about these things.  They will then be able to which homes you will definitely like or dislike.

5. The most important thing, NEVER hesitate to ask questions.  That is what your agent is there for.  If you have concerns regarding any aspect of the home buying process, your agent can help you find the answers you need.

6. Be sure your realtor has a great sense of Humor.

7. Maintain your sense of Humor.
